Council taxes to increase by 4.9%

COUNCIL tax bills in Moray will rise by 4.9 per cent from April following the approval by councillors yesterday (Thursday) of an increased £137 million budget.
Despite the increase in tax levels – the third successive 4.9 per cent rise – council leaders claimed “careful management” of the finances had maintained Moray as one of the lowest taxing authorities in Scotland.
